Abstract

The royal institution plays a leading role through its effectiveness and activity, and constitutes the center of gravity of the state and the backbone of the Moroccan political system. What distinguishes it is that the king reigns and rules, unlike some monarchies that reign but do not rule and their role remains symbolic only. All Moroccan constitutions have placed the royal institution in a prominent position at the level of the constitutional structure and given it a status that makes the king a reference, axis, judge, protector, guarantor and guide. Royal speeches are the highest source for expressing the will of the people, and a mechanism for bringing political practice from theory to reality, and matching it with the concerns of citizens.

The words and expressions in the text of the royal speech of March 9, 2011 will be studied by examining the semantic commonality or semantically different, as well as looking into the functions of these words and expressions in the structure of these speeches (their position in the speech, their specific meaning, their functions, and their political, social and psychological dimensions); this is because studying any speech requires studying the language that employs it, especially in its lexical aspects.

In completing this research, we will rely on a descriptive analytical approach in inventorying, classifying and analyzing the vocabulary of the lexicon in the royal high speech.
