The Romantic Trend in the Poetry of Antara bin Shaddad: the Rhyme of “Dal” as an Example

Abstract

The article is grounded on an approach to interpreting the romantic trend in Antara Shaddad’s poetry by assaying his poem. He is typically taken into consideration as one of the best romantic poets of the pre-Islamic period. He is likewise referred to as the 'Military Poet' for his heroic deeds in a lot of battles for the duration of his lifetime. It is said that ‘Antara fell in love with Abla, one of his uncle's daughters. As ‘Antara was the son of a slave-maid, ‘Abla remained silent to his love wooing. ‘Antara became dejected at the rejection of love; even he started composing poems that cover a representation of his non-public despair, love, courage, heroism, and romanticism. Thus, the study emphasizes astronomically the romantic trend in the poetry of ‘Antara Shaddad (kafiyyatuddalقافية الدال، ). In addition, a short biography, personality, definition of romantic trend, and its basic components are also cultivated in this study.
